Pokemon Go, was released in many different countries throughout the month of July 2016. Since then it has became a global phenomena, the app has been download like crazy: more than 500 million times worldwide. More than likely you’ve played it yourself or seen someone playing it or at least seen your newsfeed full of people talking about it!

There is one issue with playing it here in the United States of America though; we don’t really use the metric system. The game was designed with the metric system. To accomplish cretin tastes in the game you need to walk two kilometers or five kilometers, depending on what you need to do. So it wasn’t long before two specific questions were treading on Google search, “How far is two kilometers” and “How far is five kilometers”. What would we do without Google?

Two kilometers is the same as 1.2 miles and five kilometers is the same as 3.1 miles. Thanks all this walking people are getting exercise and meeting new people. Pokemon can be found at just about every location drawling people to go by stores, restaurants, local businesses, etc.

Who knows maybe because of this insanely popular game the students (and grown adults alike) here will start to appreciate the metric system!
